Zelensky’s invitation comes at a time when the delivery of a new $60 billion package The US promise for Ukraine is stalled in Washington due to the fight between Democrats and Republicans in Congress.

“If Mr. Trump comes, I am also willing to go with him to the front lines“, Zelensky said during a public speech at the Munich Security Conference held in this German city.

“If we talk about dialogue we must show those who make decisions what a real war means,” added the Ukrainian leader, betting that Trump will convince Republican lawmakers to release aid for his country.

The Ukrainian head of state recalled that he had already publicly invited Trump to visit Ukraine on other occasions. “It depends on him, on his desires”stated about the possibility of such a visit taking place.

The war between Ukraine and Russia is fully part of the electoral campaign of the United States, which this year elects a president, and which is about to be defined between the Democrat Joe Biden, who aspires to re-election, and the Republican Trump.

Trump has repeatedly assured that, if elected president of the United States again, he will end the war between Ukraine and Russia within 24 hours. This week, Trump called on the United States to offer financing to Ukraine in the form of repayable loans.

In the midst of the dispute over the funds promised by the United States for Ukraine, Vladimir Putin did not want to be left out and added noise to the discussion with a statement that caused surprises.

Putin assured in an interview on Russian public television that he prefers the current head of the White House, Joe Biden, to Donald Trump as president of the United States.

“Biden. He is a more experienced person, predictable, a politician of the old school,” the Kremlin head replied when asked about the upcoming US presidential elections.

Republican lawmakers loyal to the former president have so far prevented approval of a more than $60 billion aid plan for Ukraine proposed by the White House late last year to continue sending aid through 2024.

Regarding the risk that this aid will not be approved, Zelensky said to US lawmakers: “they must understand that we will win this war, with or without them; “We have no other way.”

Zelensky once again called for military aid to be sent to his country at a critical moment, early in the morning Ukraine announced that its troops were forced to retreat from the town of Avdiivkaon the front line, to avoid being surrounded.

The withdrawal from this position, a symbol of the Ukrainian resistance that has resisted the fierce offensive of Russian troops for months, illustrates its army’s shortage of weapons, Zelensky said.

Also present at the Munich conference was the American vice president, Kamala Harris wanted to allay fears about her country’s determination to help Ukraine and, after meeting with Zelensky, declared that the United States will not allow political friction to get in the way.

“We can’t bet on political games. Politics has no role to play in what is at stake“Harris declared.
