The world’s tallest man and shortest woman meet.
On the 21st (local time), Britain’s Guinness World Records announced that Sultan Kössen (42) from Turkye, who is 251 cm tall, and Jyoti Amji (31) from India, who is 62.8 cm tall, met.
The two are listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s tallest man and shortest woman, respectively. The height difference between the two is 188.2 cm.
Looking at a photo taken of the two people who met in Irvine, California, USA on the 19th, Amji’s height is less than Kösen’s knees. The length of Kösen’s shoes is similar to the length of a female’s chest.
Kösen held Amji’s hands, which were smaller than his own knuckles, with both hands and raised his arms. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Kösen also holds the record for the man with the largest hands in the world. The length from the wrist to the tip of the middle finger is 28.5 cm.
Guinness World Records said, “Kössen and Amzy came to the United States to work on a ‘secret project.’”
The two met six years ago in Cairo, Egypt in 2018. They visited this place at the invitation of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Committee to promote Egyptian tourism and took pictures with the Giza Pyramids and the Sphinx in the background. At the time, the huge height difference between the two people attracted attention.
Kösen showed a normal growth rate until the age of 10, but then his height grew rapidly due to ‘pituitary gigantism’. Acromegaly is a condition in which the body and organs become enlarged due to abnormal overproduction of growth hormone, a hormone secreted by the pituitary gland. After undergoing surgery in 2008, his growth stopped at 251cm. It is known that he took advantage of his height to play basketball, but after quitting due to frequent injuries, he worked as a farmer.
The female had stopped growing due to ‘primordial dwarfism’. He is about half shorter than the average height of women suffering from the same disease (approximately 122 cm). She is currently working as an actress. She also appeared in the American drama ‘American Horror Story’.
