Starring Johnny Depp and Amber Heard from April 11 is the test of the year. A trial that resulted from countless fights and accusations, but mainly from a 2018 article signed by the actress that appeared in The Washington Post and led Depp to start a defamation lawsuit.

After more than ten days of speeches by Johnny’s witnesses, on Tuesday it was Heard’s turn to defend himself for the first time. And his first witness was the psychologist Dawn Hugheswhich refuted the statements of Depp’s specialists and alleged, among other things, that the actress was suffering from post-traumatic stress after her stormy relationship with the actor.

Before all this happened, Amber’s lawyers questioned the judge Penney Azcarate to dismiss the case on the grounds that Depp had not substantiated his statements. They did it almost as a formality, because it is common in this type of litigation that the lawyer is “tested” and he says “No”.

He maintained that the evidence satisfied all the “necessary elements” and made “extra efforts to show that he had been physically abused by Miss Heard.” At the end of his shift, he launched from the stand: “He’s the one abusing this courtroom!”

a stormy relationship

Depp and Heard were married from 2012 to 2016. In the middle they got married and soon divorced on bad terms. Their separation became official in 2017. She, after seeking a divorce from the actor, in 2016 denounced him for physical and verbal abuse and sought a restraining order against him. In 2018, he proved it again in the Post article and Depp was furious.
