According to a survey released on the 11th (local time) by Rasmussen Reports, an American public opinion polling company, 35% of active voters in the United States responded that they would support former President Trump if he wins the presidential election, even if the Democratic Party refuses to certify the results.

20% of respondents responded that they would ‘strongly support’ if the Democratic Party took such measures. However, more than half of the respondents (55%) said they were opposed to this move, and 44% said they were very strongly opposed to it.

In the US presidential election, where victory or defeat is determined by the number of electoral college votes, the vote result certification process also became a problem in the 2020 presidential election. There was also testimony that President Trump at the time pressured Vice President Mike Pence to refuse to certify the Electoral College votes.

During the hearing of the House Special Committee on Investigations into the storming of Congress, there was testimony that former President Trump criticized former Vice President Pence as a “coward.” This caused a stir as it was known as an attempt to overturn the results of the presidential election.

Starting with Super Tuesday on March 5, the U.S. presidential election has become a contest between two current and former presidents seeking to become the oldest president in history. President Joe Biden and former President Trump are engaged in a slugfest, calling each other “dictator” and “psycho.”

Breitbart, an American far-right media outlet, reported the results of the survey on this day and pointed out that a significant number of Democratic respondents were among those who supported refusing to certify the voting results, and analyzed that these were not in line with the opinions of the majority of voters.

The survey was conducted on 912 active voters in the United States from the 5th to the 7th. The sampling error is ±3% points at the 95% confidence level.
