She was battling cancer, but her boyfriend left her on Facebook – a tough end

A woman who was battling cancer has died at the age of 24 after a tough battle. A few weeks before her death, her partner had abandoned her on Facebook because “she had gained a lot of weight”. Emily Nicholson, 24, was in love with Jamie Smith, a young man who had always behaved well, at least until that moment.

Even in the worst moment of her life, when she was diagnosed with cancer, her partner always supported her. But she slowly began to notice strange behavior in him. An aspiring model, she moved to Australia in 2012 with the intention of boosting her career.

Amid these health issues, the couple had already planned their wedding for March 2017. But, surprisingly, a week before the wedding the 24-year-old disappeared.

Explanation? He told his girlfriend that he no longer wanted to be with her because she had gained a lot of weight.. He also didn’t show up and broke off the relationship for a private message on Facebook. “She texted me and told me he didn’t want to be with me. It was horrible,” the young girl’s family recalled in an interview with the British press.

“We were trying to build our lives together, but my steroid treatment and my different appearance forced him to leave me. It was horrible. She made it clear that she didn’t love me, but this was presented as an excuse. I felt like it was because of how I looked and what happened,” the woman said.

Before the result, the couple had considered freezing their eggs in August 2016, so they could become parents when Emily recovered. But that plan, based on her physical changes (as indicated by her partner), was also cut short.

“He told me he didn’t want to be with me and that he hadn’t loved me for a long time. But he had been going out with his friends for months,” Emliy recalled to the Daily Mail newspaper.

The young girl’s mother, Joanne, also tells a revealing detail: She says her daughter threw the bridal shower even though she already knew she wasn’t getting married. “We were sitting with her when everything happened. She burst into tears. She went to her bachelorette party even though we had canceled things.”
