Mexico will report the attack on its embassy in Ecuador to the International Court of Justice

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) of the Mexican government thanked the international community for its solidarity and noted that at least 18 Latin American countries and 10 European countries have expressed their support, as have the United States and Canada, for North America.

Regarding the Ecuadorian police raid on the Mexican embassy in Quito and the attack on Mexican diplomats in the South American country, the Mexican Foreign Minister said that it was an outrage and violation of the immunity of the diplomatic circle and its personnel.

“We feel frankly indignant because the immunity of the embassy and diplomatic staff was violated and furthermore the entry took place with great violence and, above all, obviously without authorization,” he said.

Bárcena also organized a ceremony for the return to Mexico of Ecuador’s diplomats and their families, who returned with their heads held high after last Friday’s attack.
