Accident involving bus going to Poland 26 dead in Ukraine

At least 26 people were killed and 12 injured in a traffic accident between a bus, a vehicle and a truck in western Ukraine, the national police said on Wednesday.

“A total of 26 people were killed – 24 passengers and two drivers – and 12 injured, including the truck driver,” police said on the Telegram channel.

At the time of the accident in the Rivne region, the bus had 34 passengers and was headed to Poland.

Police did not say whether the passengers were refugees fleeing the war with Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky lamented a “terrible traffic accident”.
