On Twitter, Ukraine’s UN mission called on the Human Rights Council to “take action in response to the horrific human rights abuses and war crimes committed by Russia in Ukraine.”
“We want the UN to take concrete steps to combat the human rights violations committed by Russia in Ukraine and the war crimes it commits against our people every day,” Filipenko said.
The Ambassador asked the Commission of Inquiry to examine “Russia’s crimes in Bucha and other liberated areas”.
In March, the Human Rights Council overwhelmingly passed a resolution establishing an independent international commission of inquiry.
