On the 76th day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainian officials said on Tuesday they liberated villages controlled by Russian troops in Kharkov.

Defense Ministry adviser Yuriy Sais said the victories of the Ukrainian forces drove the Russians out of the region. The head of the regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, said that after Ukrainian troops recaptured the villages, the bodies of dozens of Russian soldiers were dumped on the streets.

The failure of Russia to explain the intensification of the attacks caused the Ukrainian government and allied countries to begin to analyze what new scenarios could be for the conflict.

Germany has announced that it will reopen its embassy in the capital, Kiev.

According to IOM, two-thirds of the displaced believe that the best way to get help is to send cash to buy food and medicine.

27% of the IOM interviewed said their homes had been destroyed. At least 2.7 million people have returned to their homes.

According to Ukrainian officials, there are “more than a thousand” Ukrainian soldiers at the Azovstal steelworks. The site is the last stronghold of the resistance in the city of Mariupol, besieged by Russian forces.

Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk told AFP that even after the evacuation of civilians last week, in an action with the help of the UN (United Nations Organization), the complex still has fighters stationed underground.
