After boasting of being unscathed for the first two years of the pandemic, North Korea confirmed its first case of covid last Thursday (12) and the first death from the disease this Friday.

Five more deaths of febrile patients are under investigation, and South Korean agency Yonhap says the communist country has already identified more than 18,000 infected.
