Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon traveled to Panama to study Spanish.
A spotted camera revealed the mysterious last moments of two young Dutch tourists lost in a forest. Kris Kremer21 years old, and oral froon22, were walking in the forests around the Barú volcano in Boquete, Panama, when they disappeared in 2014.
They traveled with the aim of carrying out social volunteer work and learning Spanish.
They spent six months planning the trip and two weeks traveling in the woods before they disappeared, saying goodbye to a host family they were staying with on April 1 of that year. More than two months later, their bodies were found in a strange condition.
In the eight years since they disappeared, many theories have emerged about the tragic fate of the two Dutch maidens.
Dick Steffens, a former detective from his hometown of Amsterdam, thinks Kris may still be alive today, having been kidnapped by a sex trafficker.

The former police officer argued that the investigation into his disappearance was too difficult for Panamanian police. Others have suggested that the couple died in an accident, while several failed attempts to access Kris ’phone. some believed she had died, leaving Lisanne struggling to seek help.
The alarm was first raised about the girls ’disappearance after they missed a private walk in Boquete on April 2, 2014.
Extensive searches in the jungle and nearby villages failed to find the women, prompting their parents and Dutch detectives to fly to Panama on April 6th.

Ten days later, with no clear clues found and nearing the end of the investigation, a local woman wore a blue backpack. He said he found it in a paddy field by the river.
The bag contained two pairs of sunglasses, a small amount of money, two bras, a water bottle and Lisanne’s passport, Tebigreek reported.
Lisanne’s camera is also in the backpack, containing 90 photos taken in the woods on April 8 between 1am and 4am 2014.
Only a few of the photos recovered from the memory card showed clear images, most of which capture almost total darkness. Some footage shows the couple’s belongings strewn on rocks along with a plastic bag and candy wrappers.

Dirt and glass were also recorded in the photographs. Another of the images showed the back of Kris ’head, with some suggesting there was blood coming from her temple.
The identity of the person who took the photos and why they were taken remains a mystery.. The contents of the backpack also contain other clues of what Kris and Lisanne’s last moments might be.
Their call records showed how desperately they tried to call the police. Within four days, 77 trials were performed, but only one was connected, and in just two seconds due to poor reception.
The boots were found to still be inside Lisanne’s foot.
Both phones finally ran out of battery on April 11, ten days after disappearing.
Police searched the area where the backpack was found and discovered Kris ’clothes neatly folded in the nearby river. Two months later, a pelvic bone and a foot – still inside the boot – were found in the same area, La Estrella de Panamá reported.
The bodies of what most men agreed to belong to the two women were found shortly after.. While Lisanne’s body seemed to have naturally decayed, Kris’s bones were completely white, as if bleached.
His causes of death were never determined. Dutch authors Marja West and Jürgen Snoeren believe they have solved the mystery in their book Lost in The Jungle.

They argue that the deaths were an accident, caused by flash floods common in the area at that time of year. The authors told The Daily Beast: “Honestly, we were also surprised, but our conclusion must have been that it was an accident.”
“It took us quite a while to get there.”
