Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that his government will only resume negotiations with Russia once Moscow troops have completely withdrawn from Ukrainian territory.

“For every Ukrainian, victory is the return of the land. We believe that Crimea and Donbass are our lands. We are fighting for ourselves,” he said.

The Ukrainian leader wants Russia to return the lands taken after February 24, when the invasion began. “And so we propose to sit at the renegotiating table and reach an agreement on peace, an end to war and the return of our lands.”

According to Zelensky, “the situation in Donbass is extremely difficult” and “all the strength that the Russian army still has went on the offensive”. Among the cities most affected are Lyman, Popasna, Severodonetsk, Slovyansk, where “the invaders want to destroy everything.”

“As we interrupt their speech, we feel that they know very well that this war is meaningless for Russia and strategically, its army does not stand a chance. However, it takes extraordinary time and effort from our people to break their advantage in terms of equipment.” and weapons,” he added in a speech.

Yesterday (23) the Ukrainian president had already said that only a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, could end the three-month war. “I do not agree to any talks with Russian mediators, I only agree to meet with President Vladimir Putin, and there should be only one issue on the table: ending the war,” he said.
