21 people were killed in an attack on a Catholic church in Owo, southwestern Nigeria, yesterday.
The balance was announced today by Ondo state governor Richard Olunde and contradicts the information previously published in the Nigerian press, which mentions close to 50 victims in the massacre.

According to Olunde, a terrorist command detonated dynamite inside the church during Pentecost, and then fired a gun through the windows, AFP agency quoted Olunde.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but there is a history of terrorist attacks in Nigeria by jihadist organizations such as Boko Haram, which operates in the northeast of the country. (ANSA).
