On Monday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Central Florida reported that Ayala was arrested on charges including “negligent manslaughter and possession of a firearm by a convicted criminal, “among other charges.

Why was the baby’s mother involved? Both Ayala and her husband were not supposed to carry weapons, not even have them at home, because they had been convicted of criminal acts.

Additionally, Florida law requires that if there are minors in the home, a loaded firearm must be stored in a locked or padlocked box so that no one under the age of 16 has access.

Mina indicated that both parents were inside parole for neglect of minors and are also accused of narcotics.

Now, the mother of the boy who fired the gun faces a sentence of up to 15 years in prison if she is convicted of “manslaughter”.

“Now these kids have lost both parents,” Mina said, referring to the fact that one is dead and the other will likely have to spend many years in prison. “And a child has to live his life knowing he shot his father,” the police chief said.
