Five women were killed during a Russian mortar attack on Izyum district in eastern Ukraine’s Kharkiv oblast on Wednesday (22nd).
The information was confirmed by the head of the regional administration, Stepan Maselsky, quoted by Ukrainska Pravda. “Five civilians were killed. All women. They were at the entrance of a multi-storey building,” he said.
According to Ukrainian officials, the civilians were shot near the entrance to a building in the village of Pryshib, around 13:30 local time.
The Kharkov region has been the target of constant bombings in recent days. 15 people, including an 8-year-old boy, were killed in the area yesterday.
The governor of the region, Maxim Marchenko, said that Ukraine’s air defense systems had previously shot down a Russian missile over the Odessa region.
According to local media, missile attacks were carried out in Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
