Russia said it bombed a missile factory in Kiev on Sunday, describing reports as “false” that the attack hit a residential area of the Ukrainian capital.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement that the “target as a military infrastructure” was the Artiom arms factory, explaining that a neighboring residential building was caused by a Ukrainian missile.

“Russian forces attacked civilian targets in Kiev = wrong,” the Defense Ministry said. The Russian missile “precisely hit the workshops of the Artiom factory,” he added.

The ministry said the damage to a neighboring residential building was caused by a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile. “The damage was caused not only from above, but also from below, which confirms the fall version of a Ukrainian defense missile,” he said.
