The Swiss group Barry Callebaut, which supplies cocoa and chocolate products to the food industry, announced this Friday (1) that the salmonella-infected batch detected at its factory in Wieze (Belgium) on Monday has not reached consumers.

The factory in Wieze, which the company considers the world’s largest of its kind, does not produce chocolate for direct-to-consumer marketing.

The Barry Callebaut group supplies cocoa and chocolate-based products to a large number of companies in the food industry and especially to big brands in the chocolate industry such as Hershey, Mondelez or Nestlé.
