A policeman killed seven people in the early hours of this Friday, six of them from his own family, and then he committed suicidein the Brazilian state of Paraná (south), according to police sources.
The Paraná Military and Civil Police indicated that the officer, whose identity they did not disclose but who according to the Medio Norte newspaper was agent Fabiano Junior García, was a driver of the coordinator of the city’s 19th Police Battalion of Toledo and “had no criminal record.” of psychological problems.
According to the source, the agent left his job Thursday evening in Toledo and shot dead his wife and one of his childrenthen he went to the nearby town of Ceu Azul and shot and killed two other children who lived with their maternal grandmother, who spared her life.
The man returned to Toledo and shot his mother and brother to death, and on leaving the house he shot a person passing by on the street, who was also dead. He later committed suicide.
According to local media in Paraná, a state bordering Paraguay and Argentina, the agent’s name was Fabiano Júnior García and his three children were twelve, nine and four years old.
The authorities indicated it investigate the motivation for the series of murders followed by suicide.
