A new shot took place this Sunday night in the United States, leaving casualties. This time, the tragic episode took place in an Indiana mall, where three people died, including the shooter.
According to Jim Ison, head of the Greenwood Police Department, the assailant entered the Greenwood Park Mall with a shotgun and several magazines and began shooting diners. After, was killed by a civilian who was armed.
Mark Myers, mayor of that city, confirmed the death in a statement. At the same time, he denounced that other one three people were injured. Police seized a suspicious backpack that was found in a bathroom near the area, Ison said.
Greenwood police, who through their Facebook account asked witnesses of the event to communicate to provide information, went to the mall around 6 pm to respond to reports of a shooting.

Authorities were looking for more victims at the scene, but they believe it the shooting was limited to the food court. “We are disgusted that there is another incident like this in our country,” said Chris Bailey, Indianapolis deputy chief of police.
There is no active threat in the area and police have at least one suspect, he added. Authorities said they would release more details. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police and several other agencies are witnessing the investigation.
Armed violence on the rise in the United States
What happened this Sunday in Indiana is the latest incident in a wave of armed violence affecting the United States, where there are 40,000 deaths a year from firearmsaccording to the Archive of Armed Violence.
The attack came a couple of weeks after a gunman opened fire during a July 4th parade in an affluent Chicago suburb that left seven dead and at least three dozen injured.
