Several people were the target of a series of shootings in Langley (in British Columbia, southwestern Canada and about 40 km from Vancouver) on Monday morning, reports the Canadian channel CBC. A suspect has been arrested, according to the police, who are still trying to determine if the latter acted alone or if he had accomplices.
Langley Sgt. Rebecca Parslow said the shootings claimed multiple lives, without specifying the exact number. According to her, the shooter was intentionally targeting homeless people. At least one of the victims is dead, and the team investigates the homicides involved in the case.

The crime scenes took place just a few miles apart: one at Willowbrook Mall, another at the Cascades Casino on Fraser Highway and a third near a thrift store between Logan Avenue and Glover Road. In the parking lot of the Willowbrook Mall, a police vehicle was riddled with at least 9 bullet holes.
Several areas of the city are now inaccessible, especially around Cascades Casino and the Langley Bus Terminal.
