Zelensky dismisses special forces commander

ROME, JULY 25 (ANSA) – President of Ukraine Volodymir Zelensky dismissed the commander of the Ukrainian Army Special Forces, Grigory Galagan, on Monday (25). The decision was made public in a presidential decree quoted by the Russian news agency Tass.

The text reads: “I dismiss the commander of the special unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Grigory Anatolyevich Galagan.”

In another decree, Zelensky reported that the new commander of the special operations unit would be Viktor Horenko.

Galagan was appointed commander in August 2020. Between 2014-2019, he actively took part in military operations in the Donbass region.
