Moscow has been accused by Kyiv of carrying out attacks near a nuclear reactor at the Zaporizhia power plant, occupied by the Russian army since the start of the war.

During a speech broadcast this Friday on social networks, the Ukrainian president denounced the actions of the Russian army. In fact, Volodymyr Zelensky criticizes Moscow for having carried out attacks near a reactor at the Ukrainian nuclear power plant in Zaporizhia, the largest in Europe.

“Today, the occupiers have created another extremely risky situation for the whole of Europe: they have twice attacked the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. Any bombing of this site is a shameless crime, an act of terror (…) Russia must take responsibility for the very act of creating a threat to a nuclear power plant,” he said.

The Russian army, for its part, spoke in a press release of “artillery fire” from “Ukrainian armed formations”, both “against the territory of the Zaporizhia power plant and against the city of Energodar”, denouncing “acts of nuclear terrorism”.
