WASHINGTON (Reuters) – US President Joe Biden continues to feel “very good” but still tests positive for Covid-19, a White House doctor said on Friday.
Kevin O’Connor said in a news release that Biden will continue to work from home with strict isolation measures.
“The president continues to feel very good. His cough has almost completely cleared up. His temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation are perfectly normal. His lungs remain clear,” O’Connor wrote.
Biden, 79, came out of isolation on Wednesday last week after first testing positive for Covid-19 on July 21 when he tested positive again on Saturday. O’Connor described the case as a “flashback” seen in a small percentage of patients taking the antiviral drug Paxlovid.
Paxlovid is a Pfizer antiviral drug used to treat high-risk patients, such as the elderly.
