The ammunition exploded on Tuesday at a Russian military airfield in western Crimea, causing no casualties, the Russian military said in a statement, following the announcement of detonations in this area by local authorities.

“Several ammunition intended for aviation exploded in a depot located on the territory of the Saki military airfield, near the city of Novofiodorovka,” specifies the press release, quoted by Russian news agencies.

“No one was injured in the explosion,” he said, saying the depot was not subjected to fire or shelling.

No injuries, according to Moscow

“I can confirm that there have been several explosions near Novofyodorovka,” Oleg Kryuchko, adviser to the governor of this Russian-annexed Ukrainian peninsula, previously wrote on Telegram.

On social media, witnesses have shared videos showing huge clouds of black smoke rising into the sky. According to the Reuters news agency, at least twelve explosions were observed.
