Video: photos of the New York hunt taken by passengers at the Brooklyn station
As police search for a man wearing an orange construction vest and gas mask as a suspect in Tuesday’s shooting on the New York subway, passengers continue to post videos of the bloody attack on social media.
According to some local media, the suspect was described by witnesses as a black man who was approximately 1.65 meters tall and weighed approximately 80 kilograms, although so far there has been no official confirmation.
The alleged perpetrator of the shooting fled in armor an orange vest similar to that used by construction workers and a gas mask and, so far, is the only person looking to relate to the facts.

The attack, at rush hour
At least 16 people were injured in the event, with at least five with gunshot wounds, according to emergency services.
The shooting took place in the middle of rush hour, around 8:30 am local time, and so far it is unclear whether the attack took place aboard a train or inside a station, though all indicate that at least sa It started inside a wagon.
Photos shared on social networks show several injured and bloodied people being treated on a platform at the 36th Street station in Brooklyn, in the Sunset Park neighborhood, an area with a large Mexican population.
Some photos were also published of a smoky subway car, allegedly result of the detonation of a smoke bomb.
Police sources told local media that no type of active or dangerous explosive was found.
Authorities asked citizens to avoid the area, where several ambulances and police units were deployed.
State Governor Kathy Hochul said via Twitter that she had received a report of the situation in Brooklyn and emergency crews were in place.

Municipal authorities have indicated that they are trying to gather information about the incident, for which the reasons are not known so far.
The White House said it had notified President Joe Biden of the incident and is in contact with New York authorities.
Mass shootings occur frequently in the United States, where guns cause an estimated 40,000 deaths a year, including suicides, according to the Gun Violence Archive website.

The incident comes a day after Biden announced new gun control measures, particularly increasing restrictions on so-called “ghost weapons,” which are difficult to trace because they can even be assembled at home.
Poor gun laws and constitutionally guaranteed rights have repeatedly hampered efforts to reduce the number of guns in circulation despite a majority of Americans saying they favor greater control.
Three-quarters of homicides in the United States are committed using firearms, and the number of revolvers and other types of firearms sold continues to rise.
