Two workers at the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine were detained for transmitting information to Ukrainian authorities, the Russian National Guard said on Wednesday.

The National Guard said they had stopped “illegal acts” threatening the security of the facility and arrested two workers and relayed information to the Armed Forces of Ukraine about the location of personnel and equipment in the area.

The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe, was captured by Russian troops in March. It stands close to the front line and has been the target of repeated attacks in recent weeks, raising fears of a nuclear disaster. Russia and Ukraine accused each other of bombing the plant.

Ukrainian authorities continue to operate the reactors. A Ukrainian technician at the site told Reuters last week that the team was working under great pressure to make sure it wasn’t a Chernobyl-style nuclear disaster, with heavily armed Russian troops patrolling all over the site.
