The display of planes belonging to the Red Arrows group was blocked and almost ended in tragedy after a bird collided and destroyed the protection of the plane’s cabin – a 5 million-pound jet.
Episode 28 took place at the Rhyl Air Show at an airport in Hawarden, North Wales, on Sunday. According to the British newspaper Mirror, when the Royal Air Force performed a demonstration with Typoon jets on the Battle of Britain Memorial flight.

During the incident, team leader Steve Morris issued a code to signal an emergency. As a result, the show had to end a few minutes early.
Other jets were not allowed to return to Hawarden Airport and had to fly over the city until commanders understood how the collision had occurred and the risks involved.
As soon as the damaged plane landed, firefighters immediately intervened on the pilot.
According to David Montenegro, an officer in charge of the Royal Air Force’s aerobatic team, the Red 6 pilot was not injured but was frightened. “She’s a little shaken up, but she’s fine.”

Red Arrows spoke about the episode in a tweet, explaining that collisions between birds and planes occur frequently, so pilots are always prepared for these situations.
