Criticism of the Republican Party

Joe Biden also criticized the most radical conservatives, loyal to former President Donald Trump, for their support for the rioters who invaded the Capitol on January 6, 2021, and for their criticism of the federal police, which is investigating the former president.

“Let me say this to the ‘MAGA Republicans’ in Congress. Don’t tell me you support law enforcement if you don’t condemn what happened on January 6,” the president said, using the expression to refer to supporters of the former president’s “Make America Great Again” ideology or ” MAGA”.

While the federal police say they received threats after a raid in early August at Donald Trump’s residence in Florida, Joe Biden considered the attacks on the FBI “disgusting”.

“I don’t want to cut the FBI budget,” as some conservatives demanded after this spectacular raid, the president reiterated.

He is scheduled to make two more trips in the coming days to Pennsylvania, where control of the Senate could be decided in midterm elections scheduled for November.
