British channels and dozens of European Americans will see the documentary Diana tonight, The ultimate truth, on British Channel 4. An investigation into whether the death of Lady Di, the Princess of Wales, Was it an accident or you have to believe the conspiracy theories that they killed heron the 25th anniversary of his death on the Ponte dell’Anima in Paris with Dody Al Fayed.

His driver, Henry Paul, was killed along with Dodi.

His bodyguard Trevor Jones was rescued and today he is head of security by Astrazeneca. He never spoke.

All the friends, protagonists and witnesses who until now had not spoken to each other participated in this programmade by Mark William Thomas, a former British detective who, with his long experience, became a journalist.

Was it that driver Henry Paul, deputy head of security at the Ritz, was drunk and drove Diana to death for her negligence, as indicated by the official British investigation? DoIt was the paparazzidiscarded by the French investigation, accustomed to photographers following celebrities on motorcycles?

And this Diana may have survived to the accident if a rupture of a vein near the heart had been detected? Why did mysterious men enter the house of the graphic designer who, at Bashir’s request, became the journalist who questioned her in Panorama, looking for apocryphal documentation and why were they from the government and didn’t need a search warrant?

Twenty-five years have passed since this tragic night of 1997 and the controversy over the circumstances of his disappearance or the role of his protagonists have not subsided.

The witnesses of the documentary

Her friends appear in the documentary, such as the Argentine Roberto Devorik, the cardiologist who treated her at the Salpétrière hospital, the graphic designer who falsified the documents for the Panorama program that Martin Bashir made with her and who may have been the beginning of his tragedy, acknowledging that there were three in her marriage and she had been unfaithful.

A new figure is added to them: Graham Harding, the security expert, who was called because she believed her calls were being heard and found a transmitter on the phone and in the building. It was he who Diana suggested that she buy a phone of hers in her name and that she would pay for it monthly. He died in the car with Harding’s cell phone as his personal phone.

What was Diana like, beyond the official princess? “Vulnerable. She had a melancholy” look “. She was a woman orphan of love. He had a very difficult relationship with his mother and he adored his father. When he died, it was very difficult for her because she felt very alone in the royal family, “said Devorik.

The Princess of Wales had “premonitions”. “I think they will kill me. I’ll end up in an accident: by car, by plane or by helicopter ”, Diana repeated to Devorik.

But who was going to kill her, the establishment, the royal family? Even today there is no answer.

Panorama’s interview chart believes that the people who entered her apartment, used the bathroom and didn’t press the button, didn’t need authorization, and belonged to the government. The raid terrified him.

The photographer who accompanied a police delegation to the Alma tunnel to resume the tour was able to see the photos taken by the paparazzi, which no one has seen. Diana was on the ground, on the floor of the wrecked Mercedes. She wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

“Dodi was a trophy to prove to his father, Al Fayed, that he was not a fool,” Roberto Devorik said in the documentary, after recalling that day that the photos showed the couple kissing, scolded him. “You are a Latino. Let me have some fun on a summer adventure, “Diana told him.

The French investigation

The French police investigator said so he was not drunk but had been medicated with an antidepressantand is not aware of the connection it may have in driving the vehicle.

Immediate blood test. His alcohol level was 1.74. Henry Paul did not work in the secret services. He had money in his pocket “because everyone who worked in hotel security gets five or six times their salary in cash.”

French investigators spoke of their frustration at not being able to trace the white Fiat Uno, who was involved in the car accident in which Diana died.

Diana was 36 years old when he died in the accident in Paris on August 31, 1997, with his partner, Dodi Fayed, son of Mohamed Al Fayed, the former owner of Harrods.

Henry was the driver and the British official investigation said he was drunk. As Deputy Director of Security, his life has been stressful. Henry was a “bon vivant”, but he did not drink so as not to endanger the lives of his passengers. Friends of him say so in the documentary they make that “something strange happened that night”.

But the official British investigation of 1999 accuses him and the paparazzi of responsibility: the emergency doctor, who arrived at the scene of the accident, found Diana on the floor of the car and respiratory aid is urgently needed. The vehicle’s engine was cut into two parts. Two people had died.

Diana, who she did not recognize, and a man were still alive but unconscious, in urgent need of assistance.

Diana suffered from severe circulation problems and a surgeon and resuscitation specialist were needed to stop the bleeding. Under these conditions she was transferred to the La Salpétrière hospital, the most important in France.

the white car

According to witnesses, a small white car was next to the Mercedes Diana was traveling in before she crashed. Investigators believe the two cars they collided at high speedbefore the Mercedes crashed into a pillar in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel.

“A slight shock and a white particle that fell to the ground. Obviously Henry Paul was surprised by that car, he swerved. It is clear that Mercedes has touched the Fiat one and not the other, “said French detective Martine Monteil.

Detectives from the 1997 French Criminelle Brigade said in a Channel 4 documentary, Investigating Diana: Death in Paristhat the driver could have shed some light on the movements of the Mercedes moments before the accident.

Martine Monteil, head of the Criminelle Brigade, said: “The whole world has struggled to accept that Diana died in a trivial accident. I’m frustrated with the Fiat Uno, I’m sure she’s out there, “she said. It has never been found.

“But you know the Fiat Uno driver, he is not the real culprit. He drives calmly and then a high-speed Mercedes comes and crashes into him. The responsibility remains with Mercedes ”, assures the head of the French brigade.

Investigators said a couple saw a white Fiat Uno come out of the tunnel. Their driver, who had “brown skin” with short hair, was focused on his mirrors. A dog with a muzzle was also traveling in the car. Traces of white paint were found on the Mercedes and the taillight was broken.

The British investigation

Lord Stevens of Kirkwhelpington, a former Commissioner of the British Metropolitan Police, said his investigation of conspiracy theories into Diana’s death found “circumstantial evidence” that the Fiat Uno driver it was Le Van Thanhthen a 22-year-old security guard who worked in Paris.

“It’s clear from the report that we think he did it,” he said. However, Van Than he has always denied having been there.

Fabrice Cuvillier of the French Criminelle Brigade claimed that the Fiat Uno was not an invention. He told the show: “It’s not a hallucination. It’s not something we throw away to create a distraction. Exists. But it would be dishonest of me to look them in the eye and say: “We didn’t let the Fiat Uno escape”. I don’t think so, but I’m not 100% sure, “he said.

Ten years after the incident, a £ 4.5 million investigation found Diana was illegally murdered. She said the Mercedes driver, Henri Paul, I was drunk and driving too fastthe paparazzi were chasing the car and Diana and Dodi could have survived if they had worn seat belts.

In his documentary, the crime journalist comes to a final conclusion: the BBC interview with Diana, conducted by Pakistani journalist Maertin Bashir, his paranoia with the secret services has increased.

“My research doesn’t answer all the questions. The truth is that Princess Diana died following a tragic accident, ”concluded detective Mark William Thoma.
