Former US President Donald Trump has hinted once again that he can run a White House campaign that will “make many people happy” in 2024, according to an interview with an Indian television channel.
“Everybody wants me to run. I’m leading in the polls,” Trump said in an excerpt from the NDTV interview, which will air in full on Thursday.
“I suspect I will make a decision in the very near future. And I think a lot of people will be very happy,” he added.
The 76-year-old billionaire has once again denied the 2020 election results, in which he was defeated by Democrat President Joe Biden, as fraudulent.
“There’s tremendous evidence, tremendous evidence,” he insisted.
In August, FBI agents searched the former president’s home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, on suspicion of illegally withholding classified documents pertaining to his White House stint (2017-2021).
On Saturday, during a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump denounced a “shameful invasion” and called the operation a “justice nonsense”.
Trump is also under investigation for his efforts to nullify the results of the 2020 presidential election and for his role in his supporters’ violent attack on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021.
