Another woman was arrested in Buenos Aires on Tuesday night (13) due to the failed September 1 attack on Argentine Vice President Cristina Kirchner, bringing the number of arrests to three.

Agustina Díaz, 21, is friends with her boyfriend, Fernando Sabag Montiel, who was responsible for firing a gun at Kirchner, along with Brenda Uliarte, 23, who is suspected of planning the attack. No bullet came out.

According to the Argentine news agency Telám, Agustina Díaz texted Brenda Uliarte shortly after she failed to assassinate her colleague’s boyfriend Kirchner: “Why did the shot fail? Why did you send this idiot? Was he nervous?” wrote she. “Delete everything”, he then asked.

The arrest was made by the Argentine Airport Police (PSA), which also searched Agustina Díaz’s home and found the old cell phone chip containing the messages exchanged with Brenda.

According to the newspaper La Nación, forensics found messages about how to attack and how to get rid of evidence before September 1. A complete skill is still being completed.

According to another analysis of Montiel and Uliarte’s cell phones, the couple tried to attack Kirchner on August 27, but the plan was called off. Photos found on Sabag Montiel’s cell phone show the duo posing with the Bersa 32 pistol where the attack took place.

Fernando Sabag Montiel was arrested shortly after pulling the trigger of a pistol just inches from Kirchner’s head in front of his Buenos Aires home on the same night as the attack. His girlfriend was arrested three days later.

Kirchner received another death threat. Security Minister Hannibal Fernández also said on Tuesday that Kirchner’s security has been increased, after receiving death threats over the phone.

“Yesterday (Monday) there was a 911 message. They seem like little things, but they’re not small things, seriously, everything needs to be investigated,” Fernández told the media.

Contacting Kirchner to brief him on the case, the minister said the vice president was “not afraid. Cristina is a very strong woman in these matters.”
