A man was seriously injured after setting himself on fire in front of the Palacio de la Moneda in Chile.
A man parked his car in front of the Palacio de la Moneda, the seat of the Chilean government, and burnt aboard the vehicle he was driving, according to police sources. The truth it happened around 6:30 in the morning this Friday in Santiago de Chile, and so far the motivation for the event is unknown.
According to them, the man, who did not know his identity, age and other details, arrived via Alameda Avenue and, when he reached the height of the building, lit a can of gasoline with the apparent intention of burning the bonze.
In newspaper statements ThirdLieutenant Colonel Cesar Martínez, from the first Santiago Police Station, confirmed that the vehicle stopped when the beacons were on, and “Suddenly a fire came out from inside”.
