A last patrol for Guylaine Perron, first woman on the staff of the SPS

The first woman to have access to the general staff of the Service de police de Sherbrooke will soon be retiring. Guylaine Perron had the privilege of sharing her last patrol with her son Philippe Hetherington, also a police officer.

After nearly 37 years of career, Guylaine Perron said she was moved to be able to be alongside her son for this last outing.

I’m leaving with a little knot in my throatshe said in an interview with Radio-Canada. My son’s been in the service for nine years, and we’ve been promising each other for nine years. shift work and it’s today, because I’m finishing retirement next week. There is emotion!

I liked each passage of my career then I would start the same thing again if I had to do the same thing tomorrow morning.
