The government says that the electricity distributors -like Edesur and Edenor– already have information on customers who they no longer receive subsidies. These data were also sent to distributors in the various provinces, according to sources from the Secretariat for Energy.

The new seasonal energy price (PEST) will be published in the Official Gazette on Tuesday morning. This is the amount that distributors will pay for Tier 1 customers, that is those without subsidies.

Companies do not decide the rate table they apply to their customers. that composition regulators do it. In Buenos Aires, it is the task of the In re. That agency, knowing the subsidies that level 1 customers will lose, must tell the distributors (Edenor and Edesur) how much they should charge their customers from Thursday, when the new amounts begin.

The inability of those applying for subsidies to access the savings dollar has had an effect. On Mondays, with only one day of validity, 18,000 customers preferred to lose subsidies for public services before depriving yourself of continuing to buy foreign currency at the official price.

The government does not give figures on what the increase will be for users without subsidies. There are estimates that place them from 50% to 200%, but they are not confirmed by official sources.

From Tuesday, the government will also notify companies which customers are level 2 (reduce registered income, withhold benefits) and level 3 (average income, lose some benefits, but keep certain benefits).

The following day – Wednesday -, the Secretary of Energy will communicate – through Cammesa – to distributors how much electricity will cost for these two groups of customers. Also in this line, the transfer is decided by the regulatory bodies. Although they will keep subsidies for “typical” consumption, they will be charged full price when they request more than their allowable block (400 kWh per month in electricity, different depending on the gas position).

In the latest official report, 4 million families have not applied for subsidies. But they also detected that there there are social rate userswho weren’t enrolled in the grant registry because they didn’t know how, didn’t know or didn’t have the tools to fill in the form.

The goal of the Secretary of Energy is identify those users (they received a social rate, but did not register) e be registered in the registry. For this, they have the data provided by the distributors.

For families or customers who have filled in the form incorrectly, there will be the possibility of rectification. In Energy they also say that ANSeS will collaborate in the applications for registration of the subsidy for those who have not filled it in. Clarin readers reported that they went last Friday and didn’t have that chance.
