HBO’s new miniseries is directed by Olivier Assayas and premieres in June
HBO released this Monday (25) the first images of Alicia Vikander (“The Danish Girl”) in “Irma Vep,” a remake of the 1996 French film, which was directed by Olivier Assayas (“Above the clouds”). The filmmaker returns in charge of the miniseries.

Produced by A24, the production company responsible for “O Farol”, “Midsommar” and “Euphoria”, the plot tells the story of a movie star who is disillusioned with his career on the big screen. Seeking new challenges, she begins to try to escape patterns and stereotypes, but begins to have difficulty separating her own identity and the character she is about to play in a French film.
In addition to Vikander, the cast of the miniseries has Adria Arjona (“Squad 6”), Jerrod Carmichael (“Ramy”), Carrie Brownstein (“Portlandia”), speech Chen (“The Undoing”) and Devon Ross. Maggie Cheung and Jean-Pierre Léaudwho participated in the original feature, will make cameos in the remake.
