There was good intensity and intensity of fire. It’s a fairly large building, we’re talking about 300,000 square feet (28,000 meters). Obviously we are not merging, we have put it on alert to have enough staff to face the challengeexplained Sherbrooke fire protection service director Stéphane Simoneau.

According to initial information, the fire apparently started with a compressor, Mr. Simoneau suggests. The intense smoke complicated the work of the sappers.

By nightfall, there was no indication that the fire was still progressing, but firefighters were still checking. I can’t confirm that it’s still underneath, but it looks nice […] We still need to examine the structure, the walls, the ceilingsaid the fire department director.

According to Stephanie Simoneau, The worst was avoided. It is a textile factory with looms. Lots of flammable material inside. By cutting off power in the neighborhood, we were allowed to intervene quickly and limit damage.
