The young man faces a million dollar civil suit brought by his uncle for extortion, malicious persecution, abuse of rights, as well as damages.

Sánchez Martin has asked to represent himself in this case after his previous lawyers, Jaime Alcover Delgado and Fredeswin Pérez Caraballo, resigned on February 1, citing “irreconcilable differences”.

One of the singer’s lawyers denied that an offer had been made to him.

“I just want the truth to be known,” Sánchez Martin told reporters after leaving a hearing held in the San Juan district court to determine whether the young man had the ability to represent himself in his own right.

The hearing lasted a few minutes and became “academic”, as judge Arnaldo Castro Callejo himself indicated, when Sánchez Martin arrived in court accompanied by the lawyer, Michael Corona, who took up his defense.

For their part, the lawyers Ricky Martin had filed, on behalf of their client, an opposition motion, justifying that “the defendant does not have the necessary procedural or substantive knowledge” to do so. Dora Monserrate, one of the singer’s lawyers, has become convinced that the young man has legal representation and has denied that any offer has been made to him.

when it all started

The legal disputes between the singer and his nephew began in July 2022, when Sánchez Martin was granted a protection order for Domestic violence issued to his uncle, however deposited that same month at the young man’s request.

The court later granted Enrique Martin Morales, the singer’s first name, a protection order for stalking his nephew, which was extended by one year last November.

The provision orders Sánchez to “refrain from harassing, stalking, intimidating, threatening or otherwise interfering with the applicant or his family members”, as well as not to go near his home or that of his relatives and not to contact by telephone , email or social media.

For his part, Sánchez filed a sexual assault complaint against his uncle in early September, but a judge denied the protection order he requested in October.

Less than 100 days after three recitals at the Movistar Arena, Puerto Rican star Ricky Martin returned to Buenos Aires on March 2 with the same show titled Symphonicand aroused the same furor among his fans who packed the Vélez stadium, thus inaugurating the season of great shows in the venue in the Liniers district of Buenos Aires.

As in their late November performances, the evening at the Vélez was opened by Nahuel Pennisi and the concept of the proposal (besides adding an orchestra of 52 instrumentalists led by Ezequiel Silberstein), did not alter the romantic, pop and Latin atmosphere that Ricky dominates perfectly and his followers (with an overwhelming majority of women) go looking for him.
