In November last year, Fito Paez released the album the wild years and announced that this was the first part of a trilogy. It was an ambitious plan, but it was carried out: in March it came out Futurology Arlt and just now released The golden light.

And just as the first part is a great collection of songs, the second part is almost entirely instrumental and recorded with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. in brand new The golden light the key is Fito alone with his piano, in an intimate plan.

Speak Phyto

Regarding the new work, Páez himself wrote a text: “During the pandemic, I sat at the piano many times. The honeys of the trade. The idea was to put the phone nearby and film an improvisation. Nothing. previous plans. Some of the ideas put together The golden light.

“In the middle of the whirlwind, he continued, recording the wild years Y Futurology Arlt, which was composed and arranged almost identically, gently but firmly emerged a feeling that resulted in being unpleasant. Something is missing. A calmer album, less intense for that, that will give me the feeling of completing a great job ”.

And he added: “The golden light It quietly slipped between the cracks of the dream and the misfortunes happening in the midst of so much action. I was determined to bring it out, tired but confident, I moved forward against the logistical hurdles of the odyssey. After a few phone calls and not a few financial problems, I was able to sit down with a baby Steinway in the smallest room of the 50/20 studio in the city of Miami. “

The last section of the recording

According to Fito, “There were five memorable days with Alan Saucedo, a great Mexican recording engineer, the songs and instrumental pieces appeared like flowers. I put the structures together, improved the playing, wrote, re -wrote and sang.I returned to Buenos Aires after two months in the United States, between Los Angeles and Miami, full of enthusiasm for much of the recorded trilogy.

“My friend and producer Diego Olivero accompanied me to some sessions at Spector Studio. I had a lot of new songs. There we recorded Abril Olivera’s velvet voice on turn on love. Juan Absatz did the same in his studio with Etta Craft, the extraordinary singer, in goddess of the sun. The only thing missing is Gustavo Borner’s master hand in the mixes. Six pieces of music, some with lyrics, others instrumental, fell by the wayside. The ship is ready to sail. “

And Fito concludes: “This nine -piece became the last poem of this trilogy. A man in a room with a piano remembers the scenes, crossed by the bucolic feeling of a nostalgia that has flown through time and space. I dreamed that I was traveling through the times of my childhood and inspired the spaces and the precious bodies. “

I fell in love with him because he always leaves without paying

He spoke for elbows he looked at you and he turned you around

I am his apprentice sorcerer, he taught me that living starving yourself on the street

When the world collapses, you better not be tied to anything

At Rickenbacker, a piece of paper and a pen is enough

I wrote what no one wanted to see

Give someone a mask and they will tell you the truth

And always your headphones

He fought her at the disco until the bravest patovica

and he released CP 70 when his wife left him

You have to do the chorus for people to sing

Don’t judge others And how are you at home?

It’s not that long, the road is short

He told me: “It’s so cold here, Seven,

on the surface of this world

There is no place to help the giles in the dying

Don’t listen to the cheat

and don’t forget that the music doesn’t belong to anyone

Astro sun that gives light to this rude world

you started a thousand bikes with your long legs

Beside me till the end and beside you I will die

Do you remember when you lent me your headphones?

And always your headphones.
