The lawyer added that Heard intends to do so challenge the verdict.
Depp, who had previously lost a UK libel case against London-based tabloid The Sun in 2020 for calling him a “wife hitter”, hailed the verdict of the case as a win, while Heard said he was “heartbroken”.
The actor is suing his ex-wife over an editorial he wrote for the Washington Post in December 2018 that described him as a “public figure representing domestic abuse.”

Heard, born in South Texas and star of “Aquaman,” did not mention Depp in the piece. However, the 58-year-old actor sued her for implying that he was a domestic offender and demanded $ 50 million in damages.
Heard, 36, sued him for $ 100 million, saying she was vilified by statements from Depp’s attorney, Adam Waldman, who told the Daily Mail that his allegations of abuse were a “hoax.”
