R&B singer, R. Kellywas convicted to 30 years of imprisonment by a federal court of New York, for leading a network of trafficking and sexual abuse for decades.
Judge Ann Donnelly delivered the sentence in the Brooklyn federal court nearly a year after Kelly, 55, was convicted by a New York jury.
The sentence is for crimes of sex trafficking and organized crime. Aimed at the #MeToo movement, the singer who reached the pinnacle of fame with the song I believe I Can Flywhich was the musical curtain of the film space jam Played by Michael Jordan, he was an emblem of celebrities being targeted and obliterated for predatory sexual attitudes towards women.
