Paul Herman, 76
Even if you don’t remember the name, you will almost certainly remember Herman’s work if you’re interested in mobster shows and movies. Herman is best known to have played a member of Henry Hill’s “Pittsburgh guys” in Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas” (he was the one who said to Lorraine Bracco, “Do you want to watch helicopters?”). He also starred as Peter “Beansie” Gaeta in “The Sopranos.” However, Herman won viewers’ sympathy in any role, due to his volubility and rapid speech, even in his early roles as an FDA agent and a mechanic. Herman died on March 29, 2022.
