“With Milton we are very shy”

-Why have you never recorded with Milton before?

-Both he and I have a very strong shyness. That is why it has always been difficult to think of a project together, but now it has happened because so many have begun to ask us why something is not being done, from family members to businessmen. My initial idea was to do a song together, but it wasn’t possible, so I finally made the lyrics and the music. He liked the song and came to my house and studio to record it. And we both really liked the result.

We weren’t doing it before because we weren’t looking for it, ever. But if we had looked for it we would have done it, because there was always mutual admiration. Now we look for it and we get it without difficulty because there has been a specific initiative.

-In this album you have not recorded everything with a band but you have put together a “dream team” of different musicians.

-Yup. I recorded this album in a different way from the previous ones, because in general I put a band together, I record everything with those musicians in the studio and then I go out and present the album with the same people. But this time I had a different desire because I wanted sonic diversity, and I looked for different musicians I had worked with on other albums in other years, with whom I already had a certain affinity. That’s why there is a very large number of musicians in the data sheet.

-How will you do it live?

-I have a show at Rock in Rio and a festival in Sao Paulo, so only then will I start working on the band for the album presentation tour, which will be next year. I don’t have a specific band, so I’m going to have to put it together.

-When will you come to Argentina?

-I love to sing in Argentina. I enjoy an excellent receptivity. Argentines like what I do and it’s much easier to play like that. I think I will be in Argentina in July next year.
