The teen who was stabbed in the Alberta school library is in stable condition

A 16-year-old boy is recovering from his injuries after being stabbed twice in his school library in Pigeon Lake, 80 kilometers southwest of Edmonton. A young person of the same age faces charges.

It’s a horrible incident, it’s deeply disturbingWetaskiwin Regional Public Schools superintendent Peter Barron told the media on Monday.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Wetaskiwin Detachment received a call around 11 a.m. Monday and dispatched officers to Pigeon Lake Regional School. There they found a 16-year-old boy being treated by an emergency medical team.

The young man was taken by ambulance to University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton where he underwent emergency surgery, Captain Troy Savinkov said.

The officer added that one suspect, also 16 years old and attending the same school, was in custody. No charges have yet been filed against him.

The school was closed for some time to allow investigators to examine the crime scene. Classes are canceled for Tuesday.

The victim must join the Canadian Army

The victim’s mother, whose name was withheld by Radio-Canada so as not to identify her son, explained that she received two stab wounds, one in the chest and one in the lower abdomen.

She also explained that her son was in critical but stable condition and should remain in an artificial coma for several days.

In an exchange via social networks, she indicated that her son was a good kid who had recently been hired into the Canadian Armed Forces.

Pigeon Lake Regional School has approximately 250 Grade 7 studentsat on the 12that years, according to the institution’s website.
