Search continues for missing swimmer near Buffalo Pound

The search continues for the missing teenager at Barney’s Beach near Buffalo Pound Provincial Park in Saskatchewan.

Police, as well as teams of researchers and divers are still in the area on Monday.

Moose Jaw Royal Canadian Mounted Police ask the public to avoid the beach Barney’s and follow the directions of first responders.

On June 17, 2022 in the afternoon, the detachment of the RCMP of Moose Jaw was notified that a swimmer was missing from the beach Barney’snear the provincial park Buffalo PoundSaskatchewan.

Initial investigation said five teenagers were walking and bathing in water when wind and waves swept one of them away.

The provincial park Buffalo Pound recorded winds of 40 km/h, gusting to 59 km/h.

The detachment of the RCMP of Moose Jaw, the Moose Jaw Search and Rescue team, responders from the STARS Air Ambulance Service and conservation officers from the Provincial Protective Services attended the scene.
