The action plan applies to all long-term residential settings that accommodate adults: residential and long-term care centers, intermediate resources, family-type resources, homes for seniors and alternative homes.

One of the goals is to ensure that these areas will be both residential and environmentally friendly and thus reduce transfers to hospitals.

The plan will be spread with five axes, Marguerite Blais maintains:

  • a response that is more appropriate to the specific needs of the people being accommodated (for example, the people being accommodated will be able to eat and receive hygiene care at the time they want);

  • a partnership between the host person, his or her relatives and service providers;

  • A work organization that optimizes everyone’s capabilities and promotes interdisciplinarity;

  • personalized and adapted living and care environments;

  • residential settings integrated within the community, which we want to include more.

This plan is a concrete response to some of the suggestions and recommendations made in recent years by all the partners and all the people involved in those who received.said Marguerite Blais.

More details to come.
