The Netherlands reached this stage after finishing first in Group A after beating Senegal (2-0) and Qatar (2-0) and drawing with Ecuador (1-1).

The United States, on the other hand, are second in Group B drawing with Wales (1-1) and England (0-0) and beating Iran (1-0).

The USA had the best performance in their World Cup history reaching the quarterfinals of Korea-Japan 2022, when they were knocked out by Germany 1-0 and this time Gregg Berhalter’s side, in charge since 2018, are confident they can move forward
