Almost all of the Argentine team that consecrated itself on December 18 at the Lusail stadium in Doha has tattoos. Many of them, from July 2021, when they decorated their bodies with drawings related to the Copa América won at the Maracana.

The famous story of the game of cards and the 5 of cups in concentration before the final with Brazil made tattooing, in addition to the trophy, also the cards they had chosen.

The story was revealed by Gómez himself in a documentary about the senior team’s first title after a 28-year drought.

But in December 2022, 36 years had already passed without lifting the highest trophy and it was Lionel Messi’s last chance.

122 minutes and 43 seconds of play, Randal Kolo Muani remained alone in front of the Argentine goalkeeper. If successful, France would retain the title they got in Russia 2018. But “Dibu”‘s left leg prevented it and then it was decisive in the penalty shootout to achieve glory.

Three weeks later, and on the eve of the meeting with Getafe in the Spanish league, the “Papu” had that moment tattooed.

“Forever”says the publication in which the doorman responds with an energetic “I love you”, but in English.

The former Arsenal de Sarandí, San Lorenzo and Atalanta, among others, also showed off his other two brand new tattoos. One, an Argentine shirt with his number 17. The other, a World Cup with three stars and the date of the final.

Fans of the Selection never stop showing theirs. Rodrigo De Paul, after one of Argentina’s matches at the World Cup, said that the players are also fans, but “life” put them in that place.

And as such, both brand their bodies with fire with one of the three most important days in the history of Argentine football.
