Paris Saint-Germain has entered the final phase of building its new training ground. Prior to this event, and prior to its inauguration, first-team players and coaching staff visited the premises. What caused the most stir was seeing the players with an atypical look. In fact, you can see photos of Lionel Messi and Neymar in coveralls in the colors of the Paris team and the usual white helmets of construction workers.
The new training ground, located in the town of Poissy, will be finished by June this year and will be used by first team players from the 2023/2024 season. New systems cost approx 300 million euros. It will also eventually host PSG’s men’s handball and judo teams.
The architect in charge of the project is French Jean-Michel Wilmotte. Among the works carried out by the architect can be found the projects of the Allianz Riviera -Nice stadium- and of the Kaliningrad stadium -stage where four matches of Russia 2018 were played-.
After being able to appreciate all the facilities and having made a nice tour of the place that will soon host them in each training session, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, president of Paris Saint-Germain, addressed a few words to the players.
The opening of the new PSG campus confirms our ambitions for the club’s future. We wanted it to be modern, at the forefront of professionalism, focused on performance and excellence. With this new training center, Paris Saint-Germain strengthens its position among the biggest sports clubs in the world for decades to come. Starting tomorrow, the best players in the world will prepare in the best possible conditions to build new victories for many, many years.”
For his part, marquinhosthe team captain, also showed his pride in the growth of the institution and left a heartfelt message.
“It’s just amazing. I’ve been here for ten years. We thought this project would take some time, I didn’t know if it would continue there. Seeing it like this, almost finished… It’s a source of pride to see that the club has grown and taken on an enormous dimension. The new training center shows that the club is on the right track and is one big family. It gives confidence to keep giving the best of ourselves. With a training center like this, we are in the best conditions to work, train and prepare for the deadlines of the season.”
What will the new training ground be like?
AndThe property has 75 acres and 17 training fields. This new club-built space will be of great help to both group and individual development, as it will have first-class facilities for both top-level training sessions and achieving optimal recovery for the athletes.
Messi and his childhood photo
Photos of Messi spread on the networks in such a way that, after a large search by users on Twitter, they managed to find a childhood photo of the Argentine captain. It turns out that Rosario’s man, in addition to being a footballer, dreamed of being a firefighter. Given the similarity of clothing and the intense search for similarities, it is that they found and took a photo comparing Messi’s visit to the PSG headquarters and his childhood costume.
