It could have been yellow and black, but the resemblance to the Peñarol colors made noise in the early 20th century. And some wanted it red… It was a discussion that also split the board of directors of Barracas al Sur, chaired by Pedro Werner. Some time later, Germán Vidaillac, founding partner, was inspired by a French magazine to give it its name: Racing Club. But it wasn’t until 1910 that the blue and white colors emerged. And since then, they have accompanied the Academy, who earned his nickname for the football he played at the time to the point of winning a seven-time championship. Even today, with the new shirt that will make its debut this Sunday against Sarmiento al Cilindro.
The Kappa model, the company that supplies the clothing and with which the contract renewal was signed until June 2025, has the classic horizontal rods for its home shirt. Sober and elegant, it features details in navy blue, the dominant color in the alternating jersey combined with different shades of blue in minimalist and modern geometric shapes.
The shirts have the same design as the European clubs, with a light KOMBAT technology fabric that offers comfort in the movements of the players.
And in addition to the shield, it has the commemorative logo of the 120 years that the club will celebrate on March 25 and on the back with the phrase “The first great”.
The collection is completed with blue shorts and white shorts.
