The duel lasted 62 minutes.

He will climb to sixth place in the world on Monday, just four days after turning 19. So he is in a good position at the French Open, which starts in two weeks.

Zverev’s lack of strength on Sunday can be summed up in one figure: he didn’t get a break point in the game.

You are the best player in the world today. Even though you’re only five years old, you’re already beating us alllaunched world No. 3 with a smile.

It’s great for tennis to have a player like you. You will win many grand slams and will be world No. 1, and you will win this tournament multiple timessaid the 25-year-old German, who eventually lost control in the second round, until he ended up in double fault, under the constant aggression of his young opponent.

At just 19 years old, Alcaraz now has five titles to his name, including two Masters 1000s after his victory in Miami in early April and four on clay, his favorite surface.

He is the youngest to reach this total since Nadal in 2005 (at the age of 18) and has yet to lose a single final.

He is also the player with the most fights won in 2022, with 28 wins.

By beating Nadal, Djokovic, then Zverev in his week in Madrid, Alcaraz became the first player to beat the three top 4 players since David Nalbandian in 2007 (Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, already in Madrid, then is on hard).
